What it includes

Six areas covered

One point of contact for everything that keeps the site standing.

Updates

Platform, plugins, libraries and server, first in a test environment and then in production.

Monitoring

Availability, certificates, errors and unexpected changes, with an alert before the user notices.

Performance

Page load speed and stability, measured and optimised with data.

Vulnerabilities and dependencies

Inventory of third-party components and libraries with periodic review, against the risks OWASP highlights such as vulnerable or outdated components and the software supply chain.

Protection

HTTPS, security headers, web application firewalls and protection of forms and admin access.

Split of duties

Who does what

Response times by severity agreed in writing and a periodic report with what was updated, what was found and what is pending.

Updates

We plan and apply them; you approve the windows that affect the service.

Backups

We take them and test them; you define which data is critical.

Incidents

We contain, analyse and close them; you decide who needs to be told.

Content changes

You make them in the CMS or ask us to make them.

If something happens

Site down, hacked or with altered content

  2. Clean-upWe remove the altered content and close the access the attacker used.
  3. RestoreWe go back to a tested backup and check that everything works.View Backup and recovery
  4. Root cause analysisWe explain how they got in and what we changed so it does not happen again.View Incident response

Also websites we have not developed

We start with a status review: versions, vulnerabilities, backups and access. We tell you what to fix before we take on maintenance.

Common questions

Questions about Web maintenance and security

Do you maintain websites you have not developed?
Yes, after the status review: we work with whatever technology it is built on, once we have reviewed it.
What happens if my website gets hacked?
We contain it, clean it, restore it from a tested backup and analyse how they got in.
Can updates break something?
That is why they are tested first in a test environment, and there is always a backup to roll back to.
Does it include content changes?
Maintenance covers the technical side. Content changes are agreed separately, through an hours block or per request.
